Pet Adoption Awareness Poster

For my awareness poster, I chose an issue I am truly passionate about- Pet Adoption. According to the Humane Society four million cats and dogs, approximately one every eight seconds, are put down in the U.S. shelters each year. While researching the issue, I found designers went one way or the other; either dramatic and saddening, or witty and humorous.

I found the below poster on theshelterpetproject.org. This advertisement was immediately eye catching for me. With its adorable close-up of the smiling pug, and the large boldly colored typography it really pops and makes you want to read. Making the dog human, giving it an opinion of its owner, its hilarious and really brings light and happiness to the issue.
